FIELD TRIP TO NATIONAL MUSEUM OF WOMEN IN THE ARTS

·      We’ve wanted to do this field trip for a long time. Join ERCV members and friends for the NMWA’s Community Day with free admission. There will be a gallery talk at noon. The museum is newly renovated and located at 1250 New York Ave., NW, walking distance from Metro Center red line trains.

·      A highlight will be the Suchitra Mattai: Myth from Matter exhibit. Combining richly colored textiles, found objects, beads, and more, multidisciplinary artist Suchitra Mattai (b. 1973, Georgetown, Guyana) explores themes of history, identity, and belonging. Note, the 4^th floor will be closed to visitors as a new exhibit is being set up.

·      We will meet at 11am at the Takoma metro station where we’ll board the red line to Metro Center. From there it’s a 5-minute walk to the museum. After the gallery talk, we’ll take a 5-minute walk to Tatte bakery and cafe for lunch (at your own expense) https://tattebakery.com/  and we’ll return by Metro around 3pm.
