FIELD TRIP TO NATIONAL MUSEUM OF WOMEN IN THE ARTS
· We’ve wanted to do this field trip for a long time. Join ERCV members and friends for the NMWA’s Community Day with free admission. There will be a gallery talk at noon. The museum is newly renovated and located at 1250 New York Ave., NW, walking distance from Metro Center red line trains.
· A highlight will be the Suchitra Mattai: Myth from Matter exhibit. Combining richly colored textiles, found objects, beads, and more, multidisciplinary artist Suchitra Mattai (b. 1973, Georgetown, Guyana) explores themes of history, identity, and belonging. Note, the 4th floor will be closed to visitors as a new exhibit is being set up.
· We will meet at 11am at the Takoma metro station where we’ll board the red line to Metro Center. From there it’s a 5-minute walk to the museum. After the gallery talk, we’ll take a 5-minute walk to Tatte bakery and cafe for lunch (at your own expense) https://tattebakery.com/ and we’ll return by Metro around 3pm.
· Please register HERE or call 202-656-7322 for more information.
