FIELD TRIP TO THE RENWICK GALLERY: WE GATHER AT THE EDGE

·      Join ERCV members, neighbors, and friends for a delightful outing to the Renwick Gallery, located just steps from the White House. Explore a stunning collection of craft and decorative art, including the inspiring exhibition We Gather at the Edge, which honors the Black story quilt tradition and envisions a more just and connected world.

·      The exhibition features Myrah Brown Green’s powerful quilt In My Akuabaa Form (2000), celebrating the legacy of Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi, founder of the Women of Color Quilters Network. This is a wonderful way to celebrate Women's History Month by engaging with this rich and meaningful artistic tradition.

·      Meeting Point: Meet in front of the Takoma Metro Station at 11:00 AM to travel together to Farragut North Station. From there, it’s a 0.3-mile walk (7 minutes) to the gallery. If you’re joining us from farther north on the Red Line, let us know, and you can meet us on the Takoma platform.

·      Gallery Tour: Enjoy a free docent-led tour of the collection from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, with insights into the We Gather at the Edge exhibition.

·      Lunch Together: After the tour, we’ll head to Immigrant Food for lunch (at your own expense). Check out the menu here.

·      Transportation: ERCV Members may request a ride to the Takoma Metro Station.

·      Register HERE to let us know you want to come.
