FIELD TRIP: IN SLAVERY’S WAKE EXHIBIT, NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY & CULTURE 

·      In Slavery’s Wake explores Black communities’ freedom-making practices in response to the legacies of slavery and colonialism through history, art, and media, featuring 100 objects, 250 images, and 10 multimedia interactives, 

·       This multilingual exhibit connects Black freedom-makers across time and place, highlighting the continuing impact of slavery, race, and globalization. This exhibit closes on June 8th. 

·      Meet at 11:00 am at Takoma Metro Station. We’ll take the Red Line to Metro Center, transfer to Orange/Blue/Silver Line to the Smithsonian stop and walk 8 minutes to the museum. We have 18 timed tickets reserved for noon. 

·      Lunch: We'll dine together (at your own expense) at the museum’s Sweet Home Café.

·      Return: Expect to arrive back at Takoma Metro around 3:00 pm.
