FIELD TRIP TO SMITHSONIAN OF ASIAN ART – ART OF JAPAN GUIDED TOUR
· Join an ERCV field trip with members, friends and volunteers to the Smithsonian Museum of Asian Art. As the seasons change, enjoy a free, Noon to 1:00pm guided tour of the museum’s renowned collection of Japanese art meets at the information desk of the West Building (the Freer) entered at 12th and Jefferson. Experience a variety of artworks, including paintings, prints, screens, ceramics, metalwork.
· Meet: Takoma Metro at 10:30 am. We’ll travel via the Red Line to Metro Center switch to Blue/Orange to Smithsonian stop just steps away from the museum entrance at 12th and Jefferson. If traveling from another stop, call/text ERCV at 202-656-7322.
· Lunch: We’ll have lunch at the The Moongate Cafe which serves food and drinks inspired by the traditions and cultures of Asia. Each person will pay for their own lunch. The cafe is in the East Building (Arthur M. Sackler Gallery) pavilion, where it looks out onto the Moongate Garden, a unique and beautiful corner of the Enid A. Haupt Garden. menu Please consider bringing cash in case separate checks aren’t available.
· Return: We expect to be back in Takoma at approximately 3:00 pm.
